Facilitator of Knowledge & Creative Catalyst
Dennis Stevens, Ed.D.

About Me

I guide individuals, companies and communities through transformative journeys using creativity, insight, and pedagogical tools. Drawing on over 30 years of experience, I serve as a creative catalyst to help clients through exploration and analysis; the central idea is that the creative process makes the intangible tangible but in this process participants need tools to endure difficult, ambiguous, or confusing situations.

I'm designer, developer, and educator who harnesses the power of technology to foster engaging and meaningful educational experiences within online communities.

I have a Doctor of Education in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Instructional Technology from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from Clemson University. Prior to my academic pursuits, I served as a Gunner's Mate in the U.S. Coast Guard.

I specialize in multifaceted and cross-disciplinary approaches. I am currently navigating the intersection of Public Policy & Governance, Media/Communications, and Ethics & Philosophy in the strategic deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and at the emergent frontiers of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

As a strategic leader, I possess the ability to guide immersive initiatives that aim to integrate AGI's analytical power with human-centric values, shaping crucial conversations and fostering informed dialogues. As AGI begins to disrupt traditional notions of rational deliberation, I am eager to contribute vision and leadership that advances the following objectives:

Public Policy & Governance:

+ Serving as an advisor to think tanks on policy frameworks for ethical and transparent development of transformative AI like Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)

+ Providing thought leadership in shaping governance models that delineate appropriate roles for AI systems and human decision-making authorities

+ Analyzing and evaluating the impacts of AGI on democratic ideals, public accountability, and driving institutional restructuring

Media/Communications:

+ Provide content exploring AI narrative control, public discourse challenges and increasing mainstream Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) literacy

+ Providing strategic communications to AI companies in fostering public trust through clear messaging

+ Providing commentary on AGI's impacts on human self-conception and identity

Ethics & Philosophy:

+ Conducting research in AI ethics, human-AI value alignment frameworks, and autonomy/agency considerations

+ Advising tech companies on embedding ethical principles into the core design of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) systems

+ Examining AGI capabilities through lenses of political philosophy and their implications for democratic theory
